Millwrights work on construction sites and in factories assembling and dissembling machinery. This work can involve intricate technical repairs or heavy machining tools, depending on the project. Millwrights have to be able to understand technical manuals for many different types of machines, as well as a high level of problem-solving skills.

Training
Training is available locally at Linn-Benton Community College in the Mechatronics program. This two-year degree prepares you in an interdisciplinary program to be a highly-trained industrial automation technician. A one-year certificate is also available in Industrial Building Mechanic/Green Technician and Career Pathways certificate in available in Industrial Refrigeration.

Industrial Machinery Mechanics/Mechatronics Technicians are the ones who keep the equipment running using advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair techniques coupled with the latest technologies.
As part of this program, you learn to think analytically about complex systems. You will master and promote energy efficiency while creating sustainable practices. From safety and teamwork to computer-aided design (CAD) and programming, you will become familiar with a variety of skills that make you a valuable asset to any company.
